The drawing depicts Rosa Fracaro, wife of Ernesto Quadrone, and niece of the painter Giovan Battista Quadrone, who perhaps facilitated the connection with Gemito. Gemito traveled to Turin to the house in Piazza Statuto where he completed the drawing in just over four hours, as indicated by the inscription on the piece.
